Service

Microscope Service and Repair, Inc. is a full service company.  We offer preventative maintenance and repairs on microscopes, centrifuges, autoclaves and slit-lamps. MSR, Inc. also calibrates and checks BP cuffs, thermometers, scales and performs electrical safety checks.  We have factory trained technicians to provide you with the best possible service to restore your equipment to original factory standards.  Our technicians will perform the services at your facility with as little interruption as possible. 

 

Preventive Maintenance Procedures for Microscopes

Inspection, cleaning, adjusting and preventive maintenance includes the following:

  

A. Completely evaluate optical and mechanical performance prior to any service.

B. Remove lenses and objectives, disassemble and clean as needed.

C. Clean and lubricate all slideways and moving parts.

D. Disassemble, clean, repack and lubricate coarse and fine adjustment assembly routinely.

E. Disassemble, clean, repack and lubricate X & Y mechanical stage controls and replace necessary thrust

     washer assemblies as needed.

F. Disassemble, clean and lubricate nosepiece carriage assembly.

G. Remove and clean condenser assembly, repair as needed diaphragms and lens elements.

H. Remove and clean illuminator, check wiring condition, clean filters, mirrors and ensure correct functions             of field diaphragms as necessary.

I. Remove bodies and check for cleanliness of prisms, clean and lubricate interpupillary adjustment, check               for correct prism alignment and collimation (repair cost for alignment is handled on an individual basis).

J. Reassemble all operating components.  Check or parcentering of condenser, nosepiece, and binocular body.

    insure parcentering of lo through high power objectives.

K. Check for and adjust as needed, parfocality between objectives.

L. Set all stops to insure maximum performance and prevent objective damage or specimen damage.

M. Clean outside area of microscope.

N. Maintain office records of microscopes serial number of components including lamp type to aid     

      in minimal down time should repair be needed.                

O. Provide individual service records on microscopes to customer, which serve as acceptable certification of

      Cap inspections.

Preventive Maintenance Procedures for Autoclave Service

Inspection, cleaning, adjusting and preventive maintenance includes the following:

 

A. Visually inspect exterior of autoclave and power cord.

B. Remove autoclave housing and visually inspect all electrical connections and fuses.

C. Check circuit board calibration.

D. Remove and clean solenoid valves.

E. Remove and clean bellows assembly.

F. Clean and check water level sensors.

G. Clean and check temperature sensors.

H. Clean water supply filters.

I. Remove and clean all instrument trays and racks.

J. Clean water reservoir and check for leaks.

K. Clean condenser coils and check for leaks.

L. Reinstall autoclave housing.

M. Fill autoclave with distilled water.

N. Run test cycle.

N. Inspect all pressure and temperature guage/displays for correct readings.

O. Clean exterior housing and dials of autoclave.

P. Provide customer with service report.

Preventive Maintenance Procedures for Centrifuge Service

 

 Inspection, cleaning, adjusting and preventive maintenance includes the following:

 

A. Visually inspect exterior of centrifuge and power cord.

B. Remove centrifuge housing and visually inspect all electrical connections and fuses.

C. Check brushes.

D. Check lid safety switch.

E. Check timer.

F. Remove test tube holders and clean.

G. Remove rotor assembly and clean.

H. Clean interior bowl.

I. Clean lid and lid gasket.

J. Clean rubber feet.

K. Clean motor screen air intake.

L. Reassemble and clean housing.

M. Run test cycle and check speed.

N. Provide customer with service report.

Preventative Maintenance Procedures for Slit Lamp Service

 

Inspection, cleaning, adjusting and preventive maintenance includes the following:

 

A. Visually inspect exterior of slit lamp.

B. Check function of the Magnification knobs, 

C. Check and lube Chin rest Assembly.

D. Check and lube Keratometer arm.

E. Check and lube IPD assembly.

F. Check and lube Focusing Diopters.

G. Check Optical Alignment.

H. Check Light Alignment.

I. Check and lube slit mechanism.

J. Clean all internal and external lenses.

K. Lube all knobs and dials as needed.

L. Check for proper function and place back in service.

M. Provide customer with service report.
